Description
Near Banská Bystrica, in the village of Dolná Mičiná, there is a Renaissance manor house - a cultural and historical monument of Slovakia.
It was built in the second half of the 16th century and has undergone several structural modifications and modernizations over the years. Nevertheless, today, once a beautiful mansion, stands there abandoned and gradually dilapidated.
The two-storey block building emits romantic grandeur and is characterized by its four corner round towers. In the loggia on the first floor, there was once a late-Renaissance fireplace from 1667, on which the names of the owners of the manor house were carved.
At present, the manor house in Dolná Mičina is in the hands of a private owner. Entry to the mansion is not open to the public. However, its surroundings are ideal for picnics, walks or exploring the local natural wealth - Travertines of Mičiná
