The name of Barbora's Route is linked to the name of St. Barbara - patron of miners. The route connects cities, villages and locations that have once been a center of mining of European significance, thus, you will find a vast array of technical, religious and cultural monuments and customs here.
The route of the pilgrimage route is 186 km long and begins in Banská Bystrica and can be reached in 9 days. It is divided into 9 stages, with the possibility of overnight stay at the end of each. Longer and shorter stages alternate regularly. We recommend that you start with the first stage: Banska Bystrica - Stare Hory (Old Hills) and then continue with the next one. However, it is up to you how you plan the stages.
Barbora's Route can also be visited by untrained tourists. Extreme altitude differences are almost absent.
