If your wandering shoes are looking for an attractive tourist spot, direct them to the top of Baňa Hill. This hill is neither high nor demanding. It rises above the village with the same name.

The climb to the hill of Baňa is recommended in every season. Although the hill is not impressive, its views of the scattered surrounding villages, the town of Svidník, the Slanské Hills, the Čergov Mountains, the ridge of the Vihorlat Mountains, and the Laborec Hills are even more impressive. With good visibility, you will also see part of the High Tatras in the distance.

On the top, there is a cozy shelter. After ascent, relaxing on benches in the surrounding area will be suitable for you and you will learn from the information board about fauna and flora of this area.

There are several well-arranged hiking trails leading to Baňa Hill. The starting point can be the municipality of Baňa, Šandal, Šarišský Štiavnik or Rakovčík. Cyclists will certainly appreciate the attractive cycling routes from Stropkov, Šandal and Hrabovčík.

If you still have the taste and energy to spare, you can reach the former spa in Šarišský Štiavnik by the blue marked trail in a few minutes. There is a functional mineral carbonated calcium sulphate spring.
