An open-air museum was established at the airport in Slavnica in the Ilava district. The idea of making a museum at the airport came from enthusiasts of Aeroclub Dubnica nad Váhom after the town wanted to scrap the old fighter plane. There are now nine unique aircrafts at the airport today.
Gradually LI-2 from Nova Dubnica was added and it went fast. The Military Historical Institute borrowed MIG-21 from the airport of Piešťany, and then we started to search for old aircraft ourselves, with the biggest exhibit being Tupolev 134 of former Czechoslovak Airlines, which was removed from the squadron after a harder landing.
